Jeff, very nice mate. Sure looks to be a brighter day (and warmer) day than your last outing.
![]() Number 1 is a nice shot. You must be very happy with it, nice and sharp. Was it with the 70-200 or the 24-120? The colours the rider has chosen doesn't make it easy, but you've got a good amount of detail. Nice! Number 2 is good, but seems a little soft. Nice detail in that you can see the riders face through his visor. What shutter speed were you using, about 1/125th? Number 3 is a very good shot. Very sharp, and great colours. It would have been easy to have had blown highlights from the afternoon sun, but you avoided that. The sharpenss and colours in the helmet are superb. Bet you can't wait to get that 300mm and give it a test drive ![]() Nice shots mate. 2x D700, 2x D2h, lenses, speedlights, studio, pelican cases, tripods, monopods, patridges, pear trees etc etc

400 mm, 1/320, f/5.6. I agree #2 looks a bit soft, #1 is great but I'd like to see more motion blur in the wheels. #3 is a cracker. ![]()
That explains it, 2xTC on the Sigma, wide open. Won't have to worry about that soon though ![]() 2x D700, 2x D2h, lenses, speedlights, studio, pelican cases, tripods, monopods, patridges, pear trees etc etc

Just on getting good motion blur, I was reading elsewhere that a good rule of thumb is set your shutter speed to the speed (in miles per hour) that the vehicle is travelling. Have yet to test this, but it comes from a pretty good source.

Thanks guys for your comments.
Yes Alan I am looking forward to the new lens,I think that while the TC does give extra reach it does affect the quality of the shot. All these shots were with the Sigma. MCWB I agree No2 is a bit soft and more motion blur would have been good but I have been trying to get my hit rate up and have tried increasing the shutter speed to achieve this,I'm not sure that this is good Jeff
