Anzac bridge

My take on the Anzac bridge. I have always found this a fascinating structure and managed to finally spend some time on it on Sunday. These are my pick of the shots.

Also like the first fisheye shot, not a fan of the last one though - it's too uneven.

Nice work Peter, the statue is great and I like sheepie prefer the first one to the third one. I'm glad you finally got to spend some time on the bridge, the results here are better then the last shot of the bridge you posted.

Love the first two . The view in the first one looks like it was taken from the international space station .

The colour on the pylons in the last one is a bit distracting.

Peter, the fisheye effect of #1 is sublime. Love how you have composed the shot. The statue shot (#2) could easily pass for a digger remembering fallen comrades @ Gallipoli...great shot.

Leigh - Your statue shot is different as I recall. Whereas I set mine up with the sun behind the staue, yours has the sun in the image. I think it will make an interesting comparison.

Thank you all for your comments. Drifter - I agree about the space station thing. That was my first impression of it too.

And if you look closely in the first shot you can see one of the streetlights coming in horizontally thanks to the fisheye distortion. I pondered long & hard about cloning it out, but decided not to.

The ANZAC statue is magnificent.
I also like the other shots, especially the first, but the statue is the pick of the three.

Another very fine set of images here.

#1 The fisheye really adds some pop to this image, and as mentioned before looks like it's straight out of the NASA image archive

#2 quite a powerful image, the clouds just add that last bit to make it.

#3 My pick, purely won over by the colour - beautiful contrast without burning your eyes out. The yellows in the pylons complement the horizon glow at the bottom. The asymmetrical support wires don't bother me a whole lot. Great clouds.

These are great shots, but my favourite is #3.
I love the colours and the leading lines. I quite like the composition too - it's not obvious like #1, which is still great My one niggle would be to clone out the vertical brace on the left hand side as it's distracting my eye.

I keep meaning to get to that bridge and seeing these, i wish I'd come with you that day - the AFL was boring and I couldn't take my camera. Next time mate...next time.

Wrong Birdy. Over two days and 3 locations I took about 480 pics.

Thank you all for your comments. I think the divided opinions on #3 are interesting. For me I liked the asymmetry of it and the golden colour on the pylon. I think Matt B (rokkstar) is right about the clone job though.

What can I say that hasn't been said. The first and second are just excellent. The very first shot I sold (to a website) was a pic of the Anzac Bridge. Must go back for another visit.

Peter, the ANZAC bridge is my favourite sydney landmark. I so enjoy driving on it. You did an excellent job of capturing it.
