Really like the colours in the last one. Personally, I'd prefer to see No.1 a bit rotate it to make the tumbstone straigt.

Wendell - no fill flash in the last one, natural light plus some layering & dodging to lighten the foreground status

Alex. I tried rotating #1 when I PPd it, but the perspective didn't work (it was shot on an angle)

1 & 4 for me. I am a little dissapointed by the sharpness of the angel in 2 compared to its granite plinth.

It seems hard not to take a good image with the 70-200 VR. I think it was Ken Rockwell who said he looked best at the world in this lens range. I too prefer the BW set but #4 is my pick for the way this lens gives that lovely out of focus background.

They are all strong images but #4 would have to be my pick. #3 has a good Gothic feel to it. Did you use a 3rd party filter or is this your own doing? I like the effect.

Gosh, cemetary shoots seem to be en vogue lately, and a lot of them are absolutely top. Maybe we should organise a cemetary micomeet. Preferably at dawn, otherwise we might turn too many heads...

I might just go across the road from work during lunchtime one day, we've got a massive cemetary there. Care to join me Paul?

Murray - glad you liked #3. I wanted a slightly different look for this one. I used a Nik Color Efex Cross Process E6 to C41 filter than added a Vignette Blur from the same filter set to draw the eye to the centre of the image.

I must say I agree with comments about my black and white set being better. I think the monochromatic colours oif headstones and the like are well suited to a B & W treatment.

Interestingly #4 was in my rejects pile originally as it was very dark. At the last minute I decided to do some serious PP to fix it.

I like the B&W's in your other post best, the pick being #3
In this set however, I prefer #1 & #4 for the background colours, particually the blue water? in #1. Nice

Another nice set of images and a totally different feel in colour and composition. Unquestionably #4(Gorgeous lighting, contrast between sky's muted tones and the shadows at the feet of the headstones) and #1 )gorgeous complementary colours and terrific angled sidelighting) are the picks here. #3 doesn't do a whole lot for me I'm afraid Then again it's battling with good company on either side.
If I were to nitpick, and I am , I would have probably tried to move your camera perspective by moving your position to the right from the position you chose so that:-
1) the central image is closer to that magic golden mean location
2) the image's facial perspective would appear to face into more space &
3) taken out of frame that contradictory Light post (or weirdest looking headstone I have ever seen) in the far right side of the image out of frame. As said peter I am being nit picky here. Love this image

Now these are excellent, I like colour better than BW but that's just me, the first one with several blue tones stands out in my opinion, striking.

number 4 for me here Peter.
Closely followed by number 2. Love the DOF on both of these. Colours are great.

I like the story in 3 a great deal, but find that it and 2 don't hold my attention as much as the other two.
