On the entry I submitted -Yes, a little luck with the galahs that would shoot off from the tree to the left of the anthill i placed on the shore of my favourite campspot. Been going there for some 15 years now. Must have taken probably 40 images in the those minutes before the sun rose above the trees. The clouds were never again in that lovely pattern for the other 3 mornings where I battled with the theme Dawn of Eggistence and egg of Creation.
This image was the only shot that featured the birds seemingly hatching from the egg (big fluke).
One of the images i was really happy with had a bland sky no more wonderful cloud formations, and i used a lower perspective and constructed a small stand of tie wire inserted in the ends of the blown egg. I then used photoshop to clone out the wire and used various layers to paste in the gorgeous, never to be repeated, clouds of the first day. Unfortunately when i got back to Cairns and read the rules again I realised it could not be included.
Here are those attempts.

Here are 2 others I took the first as shot the second with oversaturation and support wire cloned out

This was my favourite but having to clone out the wire disqualified it and the sky was very bland. Edit: Don't know what's happening to the thumbnail here but the link works

The one I finally settled on with the convenient galahs, beautiful cloud formations was simply sidelit with a single off camera SB600 flash with LPJ 11.
In all over the 4 mornings of shooting I took some 120 images. This one was about the 4th last image i took on the first morning.
As always C&C welcome.
cheers
