Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.
Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.
Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.
Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Arrival at Luna Park.
On a ferry.
Not such a good day for outdoor chess.
Out on the water.
More pics of the day here.
What do you think?
Thanks has to go to stubbsy for organising the meet and lending me his 70-200 VR for a good portion of the day. I had a great time.
Jack.

Jack, I love no 1, very moody and nicely composed. No 2 is right up my alley, too. I'm a sucker for mechanical detail shots, and the very high-detail knob (whatever it is), with scratches and all, is exquisite.
The 3rd shot would work better IMHO if the selective colouring excluded the sky. The last one doesn't quite work for me, I guess the few bright colours in the foreround destroy the bad weather mood.
Keep them coming!
Cheers
Steffen.

Very nice series Jack. I love the first photo - as Steffen said, wonderful composition and portrayal of mood.

My favourite of these is #1. A very different take to the usual images you see of Luna Park. Nicely composed.
#3 is good - and I like it with a square crop (when I click on the bigger one it's a wider crop). A nice contrast between the striking blue and the drab grey, and the lines from the table and benches lead your eyes down to the bridge - works well.
#2 is a nice detail.
#4 doesn't really hold my interest.
Cheers,
macka a.k.a. Kris
