I think the horizon not being straight is just an illusion - if you scroll down and align it with the bottom of the web browser window it's straight.
Anyway... Paul, have you considered breaking out the crop tool for a second round ![]() I'm immediately drawn to the water line on the sand and the bit of soft-hard sand erosion. I think a crop of the bottom part ending where the bit seaweed is approx 1/4 from the bottom would clean it up a bit.
Re: Crop It !!!!!!!
that's why you have D2x, it doesn't mind that kind of weather. Lucky you didn't get totally wet, it was too wet for me up here, just stayed in my warm bed ![]() I would also suggest cropping some at the bottom as well. thanks for sharing, André Photography, as a powerful medium of expression and communications, offers an infinite variety of perception, interpretation and execution. It’s a great capture and I'm sure the sand erosion was why you chose to take the picture in the first place. Personally I'd leave it in, but it does tend to lead the eye to the left and out of frame. If the erosion had been directed more to the right it would have drawn the viewer to the rock shelf and then the horizon. You can't control nature though.
Your exposure and colours are spot on. From sand to sky you've been able to maintain exposure and detail. Very difficult to achieve. Well done.
Thanks for the comments guys....I think I will have a play with the cropping a bit more but in a different direction from suggested I may leave more of the sky in making this a longer vertical panorama

Why do you need to post 'removed' and bump a whole lot of threads that you clearly don't want to continue anyway?
It's really unnecessary. And also irritating for people who actually do want comments, whose threads are now at the bottom of the page... Cheers,
macka a.k.a. Kris
Macka,
I agree, as do a number of other members who alerted me to what Paul was doing. I find this sort of action very negative, distasteful, and totally unneccessary. If Paul has a good reason for waniting hios posts and/or images removed, he should email me or one of the mods and we can deal with it, but for the moment I treat this as akin to vandalism, and as such I have disabled his membership. I will be raising this issue with the mods to see what, if any, further action we need to take, but for now Paul remains free to email me if he wishes to discuss this matter and/or have his access reenabled. g.

Macka,
I've just gone through and deleted any of those "removed" comments (except for this thread's occurence as conversation has already developed) as you're right, it absolutely does stop posts people want to read from being seen in the recent post sections. Furthermore, a post like that simply says "removed" is nothing more than a pointless flood message. Producer & Editor @ GadgetGuy.com.au

Gary & Leigh,
I'm glad to see this has stopped, as I'm sure many people find it annoying. I really don't care if he wants to remove his photos; he may or may not have a good reason to do so, and that's his decision to make, but as you've pointed out, there's simply no reason to bump all those threads and mess up the forum in the process. Cheers,
macka a.k.a. Kris
Gee, personally I think it's a bit of a storm in a tea-cup, not really worth banning people or getting annoyed about. Far worse things happen at sea....

He's not been banned. I've simply disabled his login and posting access. He can email me, Leigh, or any of the mods if he has an issue he wants to discuss.
And that's the point: if he has any sort of an issue, he has totally failed to raise that with anybody here. Instead, he went and bumped a lot of threads, and that was a seriously disruptitive measure in terms of how the currently active threads are displayed. Leigh took steps to correct that aspect, and what you see now is a view that is free of the effects of what Paul had done. As Macca correctly points out, he could have easily removed the images from his posts - if that was what he was doing - without being disruptive. That was certainly his perogative. Again, if Paul has something he feels he needs to discuss, then he is free to raise that in an appropriate manner. He always has been, of course, but no such discussion has been forthcoming. That's his call. He certainly hung around here long enough - about 40 minutes or so - after I disabled his posting access. He could easily have raisied any issues in that time should he have wished to. But for now, this matter is closed and there should be no further discussion of it within this thread. g.
