haven't been on here in ages. thought i'd post some skating pics. these are actually digi test shots i took before shooting them on 6x6 film. look forward to your c&c's

i like the lighting in the first two, but the third shot might have been a bit better if the sky was a tad darker.

Looks like it that way to me. If you look at where the shadows are, you can tell where the flashes were positioned - looks like one to the left (primary with more power) and another to the right with less power to balance out the lighting. Look at the wall of the building in the background, there's a shadow of the skater there

yep, on camera is possibly the worst place for a flash so if you have a choice it's always best to use remotes and 2 or 3 flashes to properly light the scene. back to the pics gotta agree with pyro the first 2 are nice you make the skater pop pretty well in a pretty crowded environment(shooting in school yards can be tough) the third for me the sun is too overpowering and apart from being blown out distracts from the skater. have you got any scans of the finished shots?
for the third pic i wanted to frame the skater so the flare of the sun was behind his head. but that meant getting in closer and lower and risking getting myself and my camera getting smashed on a bail.
here's one of the slides. exposure on slide is banging. just poor scanning makes the highlights look blown out.
