NYE Fireworks and Harbour ViewsJust some random shots (again PP'ed from the Small Basic of the D200 I think they look ok for web viewing don't they?) So much faster.

I like the fourth.
Looks like you missed the smoke obscuring the view of the fireworks, which is good. Producer & Editor @ GadgetGuy.com.au

I got a last minute invite to a hotel room in the Harbour View (North Sydney) from Doug and Genista.. The view was awesome and with the 10-20 I could actually capture all the fireworks sites (but they were incredibly small). For the Midnight fireworks I used the 18-200 VR and it worked a treat, as I could zoom in, or quickly go wide to follow the spectacular show.
that third shot is a cracker craig!
perfectly exposed! ![]() Nathan

Its funny I didn't actually like the third one, it is growing on me but I just picked it as one that showed more firework then cityscape.
Thanks all for the feedback.
Great shots Graig so how many did you take in the end with the 2 cameras
I ended up taking 56 fireworks shots with about 15 ok and 4 good ones my ones of the bridge were not worth keeping as I was to far away and partly obscured
2nds and 3rd are excellent
your viewpoint makes the whole thing look more exciting than observing it from the ground just wonderign what focus method did you use after several attempts at autofocus i decided to just use manual set the lens to infinity. Autofocus wasnt giving me a good percentage of keepers
For 9pm and 12pm I took 430 shots (not all actual fireworks, some the boats, the buildings, the lights etc) But in the 2 sessions I took that many shots. 9pm I used 2 cameras, 12pm I only had room for the D200. I have so much sorting to do! ![]()
