Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Canberras wild weather

As some of you may know there was a very large hail storm in canberra last night.

It hailed heavily for up to 45 minutes in the southern suburbs.

After getting a call from a mate who was hosting our party i grabbed my camera and headed around to take some photos for their insurance.

This is a photo of the local IGA and its carpark.

From Braddon the weather looked amazing, but not much rain. Plenty of lightning though. Hope the clean up for your mate isnt too tough

It shouldnt be too bad, they have some wet carpets and might need some work done to the ceiling but nothing insurance wont be able to fix.

The photo on the front page of the canberra times today is actually of their little sister, it was taken about 20m from their house.

It rained pretty heavily in Belconnen as well, but nowhere as bad as Tuggeranong. Quite a light show came with the storm, however I didnt have any shelter to set the camera up on a tripod and keep it all dry :(

That's a great image! Weird and scary. Like a trailer from a horror movie.

My trusty D200 has some really good shots of:
My back yard looking like snow with the amount of ice in it.
The water coming across the top of my door.
Water running out of my ceiling and almost filling a 60 ltr garbage bin.
Bent pergola roof where the amount of ice weighed it down....

It's all there for the insurance people....

Compared to the neighbors, I got the most crap dumped on my house...
People put way too much rubbish in signature blocks.
