Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent. Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature. Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Mum n DadIt was my Dad's birthday today and we had them over for a small celebration. I thought it'd be a good time to get an updated photo of them. I realised that we should all (as keen photographers that we are) take regular photos of our loved ones. U can never have too many photos of relatives, as long as they don't decline your offer. The background was one of our walls in the unit, which is beige so no, not the best background but I worked with what I had. Comments and criticism welcomed. On closer inspection I should have straightened Dad's left shirt pocket top - u live and learn:

Nice shot Geoff and your right, we sometimes forget to take as many photos of family members as we should ?
Geoff - we can never have too many photos of the ones we love ....
when all is said and done, they are what really matters ![]() The other really important thing is to PRINT them out and hang them up - not just leave them on the computer or on a disc in a drawer .... so this had better be in a frame soon ![]() ![]() Dodging and burning are steps to take care of mistakes God made in establishing tonal relationships! -Ansel Adams
