Snack on the run ......

Got a thin skin? Then look elsewhere. Post a link to an image that you've made, and invite others to offer their critiques. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

mmm..... I'm an idiot and had some water in a glass bottle out the back (had plants in it), but unfortunately the mossies found it ..... was about to empty it all out when I spotted this little jumping spider get a snack ..... and then did my usual - turned it high key :) :) ;)

but I do really like the reflection on the glass :)

That's really cool Rel. Almost looks like someone joined a few different creatures together. Kinda looks like some kind of alien on a spiders body - with a bit of mozzie to boot.
Love the reflections too.

Amazing!!

Cheers, Mick :) :)

Thought I'd post this so you can see what I did .....

All I did in PS was crop, and 'convert' to high key ....
These are the originals, with the crop in the top left hand corner and the final in the bottom right .... :)
and complete with nasty nasty dust bunnies !!!!!

Rel - your photographic contribution to the forum is nothing short of inspirational - great stuff again! You should be submitting some of these outstanding macro images to the appropriate journals/mags!! Sensational :)

Rel,

What Geoff said. These are just amazing.

And there seems to me to be a real face, with a great expression, on the spider in these too.

What would it be like if you were to just crop the first one down to just the fact and the fangs? I think you have something that almst looks cute and cuddly: hardly how one might normally consider a spider..
