I don't think so !!!
This lovely python had wrapped itself around one of our traps last night - and was patiently waiting for the little fawn-footed melomys (a small native rodent) to emerge for dinner ....
Needless to say the melomys was let go down the hill AWAY from the snake, and the snake gave me a look that pretty much said it all LOL

A nicely framed cool snake shot Rel. How big was this one?

We used to have a 2 metre carpet that like to hide in our milking bails (when I was on a farm). Scare the #$%^ out of Donna when she first saw it.

What lens and set up did you use and how far were you from the snake?

The shot was taken with the 105mm macro lens, and I was CLOSE The python was just over 5 foot, and wasn't that happy with me ...

The shot has been modified,



Here is a series showing the PS workflow for the shot - from left the original shot, showing the bare ground to the right of the snake. The middle had a curve adjustment, dodge and burn around the eye .

The last shot shows the finished product, copied and pasted some of the coils, and used them to cover up the bare ground to the right of the shot. If you had of looked carefully at the body section going across the front of the shot, the scales on the left and right are going in seperate directions (mirror image) .. but should be the same if it is a continuation of the body

Next time get close! By the way, I would have darkened the top area during PP. The image bleeds out a little there.

interesting composition however the lighting is letting you down. Seems a bit too harsh. You could try diffusing your flash more, or even better, bounce it!
