Indeed, great couple of days! I bumped into Paul (Quinn) on the Sunday, did you or anyone else from here end up going? I haven't had a chance to check the forum for ages, but I'm now back at work and have just got internet access at our new place, so I'm back. ![]() Thanks for the comments guys, anything you don't like about the photos? I think I have a soft spot for the Ferraris. ![]()
Nice shots Trent. #1 is the best.
I didn't go this year, I thought is was over rated after last years event and for 50 bucks did not see valve for money. Sat on the lounge and watched the cricket instead. Maybe see you out at Oran Park. D700, 50 1.8, 14-24 2.8, 24-70 2.8, 70-200VR, 80-400VR, SB800 plus a lot of gadgets

great shots - i like no1 the best. In my opinion i would trim the tops off a bit as they are slightly distracting
Thanks Gary, just had a squiz at Leon's images, interested in his coming AF-S 300 f/3 vs 80-400 VR comparo too.
Good call threesongs. ![]()
Hey Trent,
It was great to catch up with you again on Sunday, although listening to your D200 chattering away at 5fps was making me as green as the Irish car ![]() Loved your flying F3 car shot by the way, certainly the right place at the right time. Love it! Anyhoo apoligies for hijacking your thread, I thought it would be best to keep all the A1 GP images in the same thread. However if the mods want it moved to a separate thread then no problem. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Nikon F80D, FM2n

hrmmm - I'm starting to wonder why I didn't see you guys! I'd at least recognise Trent. And as for Paul's shots, - some of them look identical to mine! Oh well
![]() On Sunday I spent the first half of the day around the other side of the track, then spent the afternoon making my way right around and then back to my car (which was on the hill above the last corner) - it's a hell of a long walk! The shot there showing the lockup is great Trent - you had a good angle for that. Just haven't had the time to go through my Sunday shots properly yet, but am thrilled with the results thus far - looks like all those years in my youth taking speedway shots have left me with at least some ability ![]() ![]() As it's been suggested to post images in a single thread, I'll add a couple here (let's know if you'd rather seperate threads Trent)... ![]() ![]() From one of the harder spots on track to get a shot (due to the lack of time you have to sight, and the closeness/speed these things are going at this spot)... ![]() (Kit lens @70mm) And one I'm particularly proud of - this was taken by Little Sheepie on the Saturday, using the D70 and 70-300G! ![]() Last edited by sheepie on Wed Feb 07, 2007 7:19 am, edited 1 time in total.
*** When getting there is half the fun! ***
All in one thread is probably the way to go, no worries here Leon! Yeah strange I didn't bump into you, I was at turn 11 then turn 7 then turn 3 on Sat, then at the entry yo turn 2 all Sun. Very much looking forward to seeing your shots from the AF-S 300 f/4 and hearing your opinion of it, might be my next lens I think. ![]() Here's a tighter crop of the first one, better? Thanks for the comments guys, always useful to have others' opinions on your work. ![]()
Great Images Sheepie.
One and two are outstanding to say the least, sharp and full of 'motorsport' feeling. Well done. The little fella is giving you a run for your money though, pump him up, buy 'him' a D2x and 300 f/2.8 (of course it would be for a christmas present (only for him)). Great shots, I wish I could have afforded to make it down. Oh well, Superbikes in a fortnight. 2x D700, 2x D2h, lenses, speedlights, studio, pelican cases, tripods, monopods, patridges, pear trees etc etc
