This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

I managed only a few quick pics using my 17 -55 2.8 (thanks Birddie) for the first time today

this is heavily cropped from the original pic of an 'artist' at work in Rundle Mall lunchtime today.

I'm looking forward to getting to know this lens over the coming years!!

CC as always welcome.

It is very nice lens R2 and you will find this as time goes by for sure.

Maybe it's a phase I'm going through but I think a bit more contrast/saturation would make this good pic, a great pic!

Lose the feathered border. It doesn't add anything to the image and it loses impact.

Try doing some curve manipulation to give the image more contrast rather than just a standard hue and saturation increase.

thanks Geoff and Pirostitch for the comments.

this was definitely a quick pic and post using th elens for first time

I look forward to learning a great deal more about this (Nikon) lens over the years to come and appreciate your advice.

bumthology - not a sharp capture I agree - just an area of the original pic that I liked for its colours tho I need to boost the contrast and saturation to make it any where decent

cheers
