Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.
Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.
Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.
Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Well I'm still slowly working my way through 21 days and 6,000+ shots from NZ. I'm now up to day 11 and have hit the half way mark. Here's some faves.
I know there are mixed feelings about photos of artwork, but this is the best stained glass I have ever seen - really intense, almost luminous colours and an interesting design (lots more of these can be found HERE).
I'm really annoyed with this second image, but like it anyway. I was going for a wander after lunch so I had only my 28-70 lens with me when I happened upon the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit in Palmerston North. This was fine for shotsa like the stained glass above, but for the shot below I was lying on the floor and still couldn't get wide enough to capture the whole four points of the cross (if only I had my fisheye or even the 12-24).
This third shot is a fisheye shot looking straight up while standing in a clearing in the forest. No defish for this one.
This last shot was an experiment that came out reasonably well. We were riding on a model steam train and I took this image (and a few more - see HERE) using the 10.5 DX fisheye. No defishing has been applied to the shot.

Peter
#2 is a fabulous image but #3 is a hackneyed cliche, however you have done it better than most. The train ride has lots of dynamic lines and you can almost feel yourself in motion. A fine image. (No Peter...not having a motion)
Your photography is as tight as a drum and beautifully controlled. I am looking forward to New Zealand PT 79. PS The D2x really shines in your hands.
Regards

Like them all Peter. Really enjoyed the second and it's beautiful symmetry. I like your experimentation with the fisheye and movement. It works a treat.
cheers

Great shots Peter, I like the 2nd, and the fish-eye effect with the motion is very good.

Two or three lights, any lens on a light-tight box are sufficient for the realisation of the most convincing image. Man Ray 1935.
