These are my 1st attempts at HDR shots and were processed using the Photomatix program.

The Remarkables (South Aus)Just a few shots from the Remakables, Kangaroo Island, SA., taken late last year.
These are my 1st attempts at HDR shots and were processed using the Photomatix program. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks for looking.
Geoff! Dude! Wow, the first three I'd happy have printed Massive and hung on my walls. the 4 is ok, but the first three... I REALLY like.. and would look great in a wilderness calendar... I think I'll have to get this program as I'm not happy with CS2's HDR support/tools.
Very nice examples of well-done HDR. The reds are a little overcooked for me, particularly in #2 and #4.
Compositionally I like #1 the best. I find the large rock on the RHS of #2 and #3 dominates the frame a bit too much, drawing my eye away from the rest of the image. Overall I do like the look you have achieved, and I'd print #1 for sure. ![]() Cheers,

Geoff,
love the first one, fantastic shot. HDR has its good/bad sides, you are certainly show the good ones. #3 would be my other preferred one. The last one probably just has a bit missing, you don't really have something to grab you like the other ones. I'll be there in June, so I've put the Remarkables on my list ![]() thanks for sharing. Thank you for all your comments.
I was very pleased with how they turned out, particularly the 1st. Its been printed A3+ and framed already. I was quite suprised how easy it was to do using the photomatrix software. The following were the 3 original files for the 1st image and the final again for comparison. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
Simply sensational stuff Geoff! The first 3 are awesome and good on you for printing/framing your good work.
Nice to see you posting again - you seem to have been away/busy for a while. Geoff

Absolutley brilliant work geoff, #1 is one of the best uses of HDR I have seen in a long time.

#1 is nothing short of spectacular. I'm not normally a fan of HDR but in #1 you've pulled it off - it looks brilliant without the obvious haloing and weirdness associated with heavy PP. Great work
