Dee Why Headland and big swell! Part 1Was at Dee Why headland this morning, a clear morning with the D200 and 70-200VR. It felt good to be out and about taking some snaps, of what isn't the usual for me - surfers and a big swell. All taken with the 70-200VR in appeture mode. Times like these the 1.4 or 1.7 x teleconverter would have been nice but it's something I can't justify for something I'd rarely use.

Special Moments Photography Nikon D700, 50mm 1.4, 85mm 1.4, 70-200 2.8VR, SB800 & some simple studio stuff.
Great photos, Geoff - I like the tones in the 2nd one, and with his clothes, it almost looks like it could have been taken in 1977 as much as 2007.

Two or three lights, any lens on a light-tight box are sufficient for the realisation of the most convincing image. Man Ray 1935. Our mug is smug
