They both look dark/underexposed on my laptop monitor James.

the backgrounds are intentionally stopped down but the rider & ramp faceshould be correctly exposed.
it looks reasonable on my laptop and looked good when chimping. havent put it on the pc yet or done any PPing on it body: nikon d200, d70s, f4s, f601.

They are good but the whole thing looks under exposed on both my monitors.

fair enough i will check it out on the pc. it doesnt look bad to my eye but i might be able to save it with nx.

did a b&w conv on the tyregrab for my website, added some monochromatic noise n grain and a slight reddish tint
