Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.
Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.
Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Hey guys,
Havent posted any images in a while, here is some from a recent makeup shoot I was commissioned for...
All shots shot with an off-camera Canon 550ex speedlight shooting through a 46" Photek Softlighter II umbrella, trigger by an on-camera 580ex speedlight and a 38" 5in1 Lastolite silver reflector. Occasionally I used a 2nd 550ex speedlight.
There is a few more on my blog.
Thanks for looking!
Jonathan

Jonathan - #1 and #2 are excellent, representing makeup.
#3 - looks as if she is desperate to go to the loo

i like them all, though the 3rd one has a slightly distracting background on the left, and her pose is a little.... forced?

Here's my crits..uninformed as usual
#1...nice
#2...that brown blobby thing on her left shoulder which is pressing into her face dosen't work for me...I presume it is a makeup brush...but its distracting from an otherwise beautiful shot
#3...her right hand..don't like...not what I'd want to dominate the foreground on a beauty shot. Not sure about the background either.
Overall the model's facial expression appears a liitle "distant" to me. Methinks the "Ice Queen" look.

#1 : Really like it!
#2 : The red around her eyes (I'm a bloke... not sure what the makeup is called!) is a bit distracting
#3 : The pose does look a little uncomfortable...
#4 : The pose is a bit at odds with the dress, but it's a great shot.
Cool stuff!
