It's been a while since I've been out shooting but a new car has given me good excuse to go for a drive down the coast and take some shots.

C&C welcome, especially if anyone has any good car photography and PP tips.
Cheers
Jay

Nice car
![]() But back to topic. 1) clean up the Armco, get rid of the graffiti! It also looks a little soft down the drivers side. I would have also chosen more of an angle from the drivers side to ensure you do not see the tread of the tyre on the passenger side. 2) I like, crop it a bit though, take out the chrome strip on the bottom and the number plate recess on the left. 3) good concept, but the white railings are a little too much in the relfection on the car, I'd also like to see all of the car as well, i.e. not have the rims in the ground. Once again the passenger side tyre. 4) car on grass, this is generally a no-no, some work well some don't, with this style of car I want to see the grass manicured and neat. Or long and unruly in a different scene and light. The other thing is the shadow on the passenger side, a reflector or remote flash would have helped a little here (as would different lighting). Overall I think the time of day is wrong for these shots, you need to be past 16:00 hours to really get the best light, as this is a darker grey it would really show off the later lighting conditions. PS get the windows tinted ![]() From a PP perspective, have a look at doing some layer based adjustments with masking, this will help to sort the exposure out a bit BUT will be a bit of work. I think you'll do much better with a later time in the day, also the aperture choice looks good for most. I'd be inclined to widen it up for the second shot though. Brett
Gorgeous view.... but there's this damn car blocking the view... *grins*
I like the first two images the best.... you've done well considering it looks like it was all glary and stuff... oh and nice car.... ![]() The last thing I want to do is hurt you... but it's still on the list...

Yeah it's a bit thirsty, although much the same as my old EF which was a few hundred kg lighter and had no turbo so not too bad in the grand scheme of things. My wife drives a 1.3l festiva so it brings balance to the force ![]() Brett, thanks for the tips. I'll head out again when I get a chance and try for some late arvo shots. I found I was getting alot of flare off the chrome in various places so yeah, wasn't the best time to be shooting in the midday sun! I'll keep the passenge tyre thing in mind too, it's something I'd never really taken any notice of before. I looked at cropping out the number plate recess in the second shot but it was then right on the edge of the badge which looked a bit unbalanced given the amount of scenery off to the right. It'd also be very narrow to not get any of the number plate top surround in the shot. I'll try re-shooting it and see if I can get a better angle. I know it doesnt really look like it there but it does already have tinted windows. I'd like to go a shade or 2 darker but it's probably not worth the cost and hassle of stripping the existing stuff off. I got the grills off ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/FORD-FALCON-BA-B ... dZViewItem Jay
