Got a thin skin? Then look elsewhere. Post a link to an image that you've made, and invite others to offer their critiques. Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.
Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.
Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.
Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

I recently did the Challenger Ball (banking company) and there was various special guests and celebs......plus some arty shows....
Here is a few to share
Phantom of the Opera Performance
All shot via spot meter........ISO at least 640 in most shots.....D200 handled it well...i have complained before about the 'noise' issues the cam has, but as some have said if the image is exposed right than the noise is really not an issue plus i have stopped 'pixel peeping' as it (noise) never shows in prints anyhow..lol
Dan PS: I am down a 50mm 1.4 i dropped it in the water at the beach ....ouch

Hello Dan
Firstly, sorry to hear about your lens - I hope it is insured.
Secondly, your pix. I think you have done an excellent job with Marcia Hines. Photographing dark skin tones under stage lighting wouldn't be easy, and the spotmeter must have been helpful.
I like the idea of the second image, but perhaps it may have worked even better iof the focus point was on the performers at the back of the shot. I find it a little difficult to make them out.
The third pic (I'm not sure who it is - I think Anthony Warlow has a shaved head) is moody, but what he is doing is only really apparent in the context of the other images.
I also like the last pic, but have the same difficulty with the performers on the bottom RHS of the image, and I feel that it may be better with them cropped out.
Anyway, I like the work overall. It's good to see posts containing content other than your usual genre.

Lovely pics. I like 2,3,4 and 1. Each one for different reason.

You certainly have a creative bent to your work. I think a defining style is one of the most difficult things for a photographer to achieve but you are well on your way to gaining that. Nice work!
