Still waiting for my 120-300 to arrive, and shots this good aren't helping me a lot...

...... take up weight lifting while you wait, it will help when your lens arrives..... ![]() ![]() ![]() ....... the learning curve with this piece of glass is a tad longer than any other. It has taken me a few months to get used to using said lens hand holding and with a gimbal head on a tripod. The new focus system on the D300 has helped a lot when shooting wide open as you have to be sure of being in focus as the focus area is very small when working wide open Cheers ....bp....

Re: ......._DSC001.NEF
I've been back in the gym for a year, I'll be fine ![]() I've been shooting with a 70-200 and 1.4tc, but almost exculsively using it on my monopod with the collar unlocked so I can swivel it around. I've shot with some LONG Canon glass (belonging to the local paper, and being toted by my mates ![]()
Congrats on the new combo Bernie. It will be a combo I'll enjoy when I eventually get my D300
![]() Bernie am interested in the 120-300 backfocus issue? Who are you sending it to and what info do they need to recalibrate the lens? Oh, how much to recalibrate? ![]() cheers marco
thanks all....... marco, the work is being done under warrantee by the agent. They did a good job on the 50-500. I will be dropping the lens off some time early February when I am in Sydney Back focus showed up more on my D2xs than the D300. The D2Xs had the focus calibrated early November, and appears to be spot on with the 500 and other lens. When I am at home the 2 lens I use the most are the 300 and 500, as I shoot wide open with these, any fault shows, also using 1.4 & 2X TC's will show any faults as well here is a quick test with the D2Xs, 500 Bigma and 2Xtc..... manual focus on the rear of the bird, he was quick ![]() Cheers ....bp....
