Hi Guys Having and Architectural background I am now trying to get my head around photographing rooms/ buildings etc. In particular at night where incandescent lighting can be used to create an atmosphere/ softness. HOWEVERAny tip would be appreciated re getting a nice light level without lights actually blowing out the photograph. The following is a photo I took at the weekend of our little girls room we just decorated the previous weekend. Is there a way of getting the room to be a bit brighter without losing the light or even get a bit more contrast, even if it is in Photoshop. I tried flash but it was way to harsh. It is a great shot Bruce. As antman has alluded, how about HDR. Or just two exposures, one as is and one for the light.
Layer them up, let the second exposure through on the light and immediate surrounds and kizam.

Firstly what is "HDR" actually I will google it tonight when I get home.

It is too harsh, and balanced a tad too much on the cool side.
It's also a bit too 'neat' (i.e. everything is tidy and in it's place). making it look slightly more lived-in would give it a more warm and inviting feel too - if that's what you're after...
