will you all come and look... and comment even.. ??? Lets see shall we.. These were taken in Thailand at a place called Tiger Temple... its an amazing place where monks raise these tigers and you can go there and handle them and have your photo taken with them etc.. they aren't in a cage just on leads (like thats going to stop a Tiger doing what it wants to do lol).. yep its an accident waiting to happen but I figured it was worth the risk.. *nods* If I get the energy I might have a go at cloning out some of the leads one of these days but for now this is how they are staying.. Oh and obviously I didn't take the last shot of me..
The last thing I want to do is hurt you... but it's still on the list...

You obviously havent visited Thailand Safety is a bit of a non word over there, they do all kinds of crazy things that make us Farang (Westerners) cringe in horror! I have seen about 3 dozen of these tiger photo situations and never one drugged animal. Though one a few weeks ago decided it was pissed off enough to get up in the midlle of the shoot to wander around growling!! There is a number of places that you can have pictures taken with full size or baby tigers etc, its part of the tourist trade over there. Wait till you actually see baby or full sized elephants less than 500mtrs from the city centre in Bangkok being walked down the road!!

Wow.. thats some nice photos of tigers there! I might be taking a trip to Thailand at the end of the year, I would definately visit that temple. How often would you get a chance in your lifetime to pat a tiger like that

wow, you lucky thing. imagine being soo close to a tiger and petting it even!!
In terms of comments, not sure how much I can comment as I still dont take as good photos as you, but for me, the first 2 photos I feel that the nose is more in focus than the eyes. my 2 cents
That said I am 'J' that you got soo close to them tigers!!!
Cheers Mak

Nooooooooo!! Leave the chains in as they are indicative of the reality. By removing them you are compounding their plight.
Excellent pics but it saddens me to see these beautiful animals as playthings of humanity, (humanity - what a bloody stupid word)

Nice colours with these Bindi, can I ask why you selected the nose and not the eyes as the focal point?

#1 and #2, they are simply superb. They are so sharp that it feels like the tiger is right in front of you.

WOW! Opening up this thread and having #1 looking me in the face made me stop still and stare. Absolutely fantastic photos of totally majestic animals. #1 and #3 are my favourites, I think. I love that in #3 the head is sharp and the body blurs out of the field of focus. Funny story: While I was still staring at #1, I made firefox fullscreen and turned my laptop around to show my wife. She physically jerked in her seat with amazement! You see, we have a 5 month old Bengal kitten and without the normal Firefox buttons and headers she thought for a moment that I was showing her a photo I had taken of little Corbett. To help you share the fun, I went back through my photos and took this crop of our kitten...

Oh I did take quite a few with the eye's as the focal point but I wanted to try something different and the detail on their noses fascinated me.. yes I'm easily amused.. *sigh* Also it was very hot and a lot of the tigers just wanted to sleep so their eye's were closed... I should have posted more eye's open shots maybe... latch wrote:WOW! Funny story: While I was still staring at #1, I made firefox fullscreen and turned my laptop around to show my wife. Where's the pussy. All I see is a ferocious man-eating beast and a tiger. I would be proud if I could take Tiger photos like that Sue.
