Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Typically, no more than about four images should be posted in any one post or thread, and the maximum size of any side of any image should not exceed 950 px.

Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.
Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.
Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.
Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

well my 16-85VR experience was short lived. after shooting with it for around 3 weeks solidly, i took it back. i just couldnt get my head around using it. it was far too slow for me and being restricted to a 5.6 aperture was torture. i tried to persereve but the final straw came when lara looked at some photos taken with the 16-85 and asked me if my camera was broken. dont get me wrong, i think its an outstanding lens for what it is. the VR in particualr worked a bloody treat. but hanging with the 50/1.4G, 14-24/2.8 and 35/2 was a tough ask and it really just didnt suit my shooting style. at the end of the day i've been spoilt and so has Lara. so i wondered back into ECS this morning, one look at my face an what i was carrying and Bruce laughed and gave me the obligatory "i told you so" before i forked out the rest of the cash for the 24-70/2.8...which has just truly blown me away. this was the first image at home shot at 2.8 with the sb400 as fill flash for window light. i had to actually ue some GB on the faces here cos, believe it or not, it was TOO sharp. GREAT decision Chris, one you definitely won't regret! Too sharp? Hmm...I think you've over done the blurr on your wife's nose but it's a lovelyt shot none-the less. Congrats on your purchase..looking forward to seeing some shots from you. I've had my 24-70 2.8 for about a month now, and I adore it
