Got a thin skin? Then look elsewhere. Post a link to an image that you've made, and invite others to offer their critiques. Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.
Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.
Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.
Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Here is that group shot. A great time was had by all. Light supplied by photoaffinity (Metz on left, SB24 on right held by Edina) triggered via good ol phottix triggers. Unfortunately I couldn't find a photo where everyone was looking sharp. The best shot was underexposed due to the Metz recharging. I couldn't expose the background adequately because there was too much ambient street lights! I can't seem to upload the fullsize photo to flickr. Maybe because I am not a PRO.

Is Stubbsy on the phone there in the second shot A very fine time was had by all I think... we started off together, split up, reformed, split up again, reformed again, lost a few people, regained them... took some great photos (yet to be published)... and then split off in various directions... From a personal perspective, it was good to shake the hands of many old friends, and to meet several new people (by my standards)... I think that's a reasonable sum-up... The great thing about this event is that it got Sydney-siders out on the street, away from their computer / playstation / TV... and BOY, were there a lot of people... (mostly ones who didn't know how to walk in straight lines) The Opera House and MCA lightshows were fairly spectacular, but the other light exhibits were a little ho-hum... I'd have to agree with Sheepie... Surely we could do better than that...

John, ya should have tried getting to the fire on the water thing, we got thru going against the traffic and i have to say I have seen better flowing crowds at big concerts like the BDO (Big Day Out). Or where you reffering to those intoxicated young ladies

Yes some last minute organising going on despite the event being almost over photoaffinity wrote:Drunk guy walking past: take the lens cap off!
That was the least of my problems. I couldn't even find the damn lens cap! My camera was switched off most of the time I was trying to take a photo BTW Can you believe the aperture I guessed was good for the flashes that you set up? [Well I had a small discussion with the RAW file at home ] I guess you maxed them out though? I only changed the shutter speed to dull down the ambient...
