Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.
Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.
Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Especially with a gentle morning breeze. Caladenia lobata is their scientific name but they are also known as butterfly orchids locally. These were flowering well this year at Mount Barker WA. These flowers are about 75-100mm wide and really quite a stunning sight as they are on stems up to about 700mm tall. This puts them up above low shrubs and grasses. Fill flash from above Early morning light Critique most appreciated,

WOW~!!! they look absolutely amazing, mother nature never ceases to surprise.
I really like the colours in both, but the 2nd one really does it for me...the background is less distracting

Colin, that second one is an absolute cracker... really nice lighting and beautifully composed. The first one is also great, maybe a little crop to get in closer to the two 'dancers' ?? It is disturbing how much they do look like little dancers! great stuff

Thankyou gents, I really like morning light. Some of the tones are just so........... I can try a tighter crop Gerry, was trying to give them room to move. Yes Cameron I have issues with my backgrounds a lot of the time, mostly light grey sticks

Really nice Colin, the 2nd deserves to be printed and hung somewhere, not only is the background minimal but the light is working nicely on the flower from your chosen angle

Colin You've captured the fragility of these delicate plants beautifully! That's a bloody difficult thing to do. Kudos!

Nicely done Colin. What an uncanny resemblence. colin_12 wrote:really like morning light
You can easily use a little softbox off camera with a 1/4CTO gel. Especially since the subject is so small. Clone out that yellow flower though.

Here we are Gerry and Surrenj, both ideas in one. Do you think this works better?

Colin, you have outdone yourself, this one looks even more like a dancer
