This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Alex I certainly prefer No1, it is a more complete and interesting image.

G'day mate,

For me the first is preferable, it seems to be a more "complete" image, more of the "scene". I keep wondering what's outside when I view the second... The first one seems to invite me to wander around the image more, the second seems to offer less viewer involvement?

Lovely color and tones in this mate, looks great, interesting angle too, nicely done...

Alex, while I love Number 2, I think Number 1 would be the best - OnePutt & Mudder are spot on.
great shot by the way :)

Number 1 defiantly, #2 just doesn’t feel the same.

From what I can tell on this complete and utter poxy monitor I'd say #1. The greens do it for me.

Hi Alex, :D
I agree number 1 is the pick. The overall balance of colours is better with the green on either side of the photo.

1st one it just looks like it could suit a wall

even though the 2nd one is has more gorgeous elements like the silky water. i would pick the 2nd if you cropped in really tight on the water

It depends where they're putting it - if it's a main wall type photo the first feels more expansive, but if they're putting it in a stairwell or something I think the second one has a better close-up feel. The second looks a bit better if you drop the greens a little and bring out the detail in the red/brown a little more (I have two monitors, only one has decent greens).

Thanks for your help, guys. I think I actually prefer No. 2 myself, but I think I might print and frame both and they can take which ever they like.

You obviously mean dilemma (rhymes with Morris Iemma)...

I actually prefer version 2 as well, but it depends how they are going to display it and what they want it to portray...

I'd say one, reason... Not sure , has a more complete feel to me.

No.2 seems as if it should be part of a series.

Hi Alex,

I prefer tighter crop of No 2. No 1 reflections on the water (on the left hand side) distract my attention from the main subject
